Our experience

I taught Year 5 and 6 English and Mathematics at a top London prep school - St Philip's - getting the best out of children of all abilities. I inspire children to improve their grammar and comprehension skills, master concepts in maths and write inventively. ​

See my testimonials about how I've helped children succeed at 11+ and 13+. In 2019, six out of twenty of my Year 6 students got into City of London Boys, following my teaching and guidance. And I've coached students to pass tests at Highgate, UCS Hampstead, QE Boys, Henrietta Barnett, Merchant Taylors', the North London consortium, Eton, Harrow, Westminster and KCS Wimbledon, among other top schools. School tests can stress children so I keep it fun but focused.

Creative writing sessions are a big part of unlocking test potential. I am completing my first novel on a PhD in Creative Writing at Royal Holloway, University of London, so love drawing out a child's instinctive storytelling skills.

With a First in English & Drama from Bristol (1997), an MSc in Indian Politics from Oxford (2009), I have deep subject knowledge. I'm also about to complete my PhD in English and Creative Writing at Royal Holloway, University of London. With 'A' grades across the board at A level and GCSE, I also love helping older students master essay structure and planning.

Prior to teaching, I produced programmes for the BBC and Channel Four, and worked as a political analyst advising Fortune 500 companies on South Asian politics. I've also published academic articles and journalism on India.
