Mathematics numbers
Kids can conquer 11+ and 13+ mathematics with my one on one tutoring. Fun and friendly, I have a range of bespoke materials and will enthuse your child so they look forward to their test prep. Fractions, percentages, and complicated word problems are broken down and demystified. Rigorous practice helps them master concepts. As a prep school teacher, I've developed my own unique explanations.

I respond actively to a child's interests, incorporating them in new maths problems written just for them. So, if a child likes Chelsea or Arsenal, they might get questions on the whiteboard based on a player's seasonal goal tally.
English words
Children learn to tackle comprehension with confidence: how to find the exact spot in the text for answers and explain the higher level evidence that the top schools are looking for. My grammar teaching keeps jargon to a minimum and taps into a child's instinctive understanding from speaking English fluently.

Writing is a highlight of a Numbers and Words class: as a Creative Writing PhD candidate and former journalist, I nurture children's innate story telling skills. I guide them on how to use higher level connectives, openers and punctuation.
Reasoning numbers and words
Lots of children need a bit of guidance on how to tackle the verbal and non-verbal reasoning tests. At Numbers and Words I breakdown the different types of questions (with words, numbers and shapes) and methods for success. By learning how to narrow down multi-choice options, children gain crucial test experience and confidence.
I draw on years of experience helping children to leap over this hurdle, and have lots of bespoke material to aid this.
Drama expression
On our three hour 11+ summer workshops, children let their creativity loose in a drama class led by professional director Charlotte Westenra. This takes place after Maths and English study - and when sunny takes place in our magical garden.

Charlotte has extensive experience in London theatre and working with children: she trained at the legendary Donmar Warehouse and her credits include major shows at the Tricycle and Royal Opera House. She takes the group on a journey into their imaginations, learning dramatic skills that will aid and complement their growth in 11+ English.
